About the Attorney Job Opportunity

Zwicker is seeking a candidate with an eagerness to learn, as well as exemplary organizational and written and verbal communication skills to join their Zwicker team. 

Role and Responsibilities

The Legal Compliance Associate Attorney will join Zwicker’s experienced in-house counsel team and be primarily responsible for conducting internal reviews of legal threats, lawsuits, and government agency complaints against the firm under the supervision of senior lawyers within the group. This position offers significant responsibility and a blend of litigation and compliance oriented work.

The ideal candidate will have one to four years of experience practicing law with a demonstrated record of performing fact investigations, identifying and analyzing legal issues, and communicating findings and recommendations to relevant parties.

They will have the opportunity to draft correspondence with government agencies and opposing parties, and as such, the ability to communicate effectively in writing is essential to success in this position.

Other opportunities may include assisting in the design and implementation of compliance programs relevant to consumer and commercial debt collection, data privacy and security, and employment-related issues. 

This position will report directly to the Vice President of Legal Compliance for the Firm.

Eligibility

  • The ability to independently manage deadlines and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and the ability to anticipate legal issues, risks, and compliance needs
  • Significant experience conducting legal research and preparing legal memoranda
  • The ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in writing and verbally
  • Exhibit sound decision making and informed judgments
  • Licensed and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Debt collection experience, ideally in a compliance setting
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Regulation F and/or state-level consumer protection laws
  • Law review or journal experience

Salary

  • Min. – USD $75,000.00/Yr.
  • Max. – USD $80,000.00/Yr.
