About the Opportunity

Tessmer Law Firm PLLC is inviting applications from eligible candidates who are licensed to practice law in the State of Texas for the position of Associate Attorney in San Antonio, Texas.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, settlement agreements, orders for contract negotiations, and court proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel under the direction of senior associate attorneys.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on potential resolutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
  • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is readily available for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base.
  • Outstanding and effective communication and problem-solving skills to work with clients, staff members, and senior attorneys.
  • Demonstrated interviewing skills to know which questions to ask to gather more information and gain a thorough understanding of claims.
  • Excellent research, analytical, verbal, and writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume caseload in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
  • Professionalism, strong work ethic, and sense of compassion.
  • Must be a team player, positive, motivated, and organized.
  • Commitment to professional excellence, continuous self-improvement, and a desire to learn.
  • Advanced proficiency in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, plus database and document management systems.
