About the Opportunity
The internship program at Mil Mujeres Legal Services aims to provide real legal work to the intern. Interns get to work on real cases, long time projects and interact directly with the clients. The internship program includes intensive training that will allow the students to learn about the immigration issues they handle and perform as expected.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Intern
- Serve as an advocate and provide support in outreach initiatives by creating a bridge between the organization and the Russian community.
- Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice.
- Interact with new and existing clients to prepare for attorney-client meetings.
- Assist in the drafting of correspondence and legal documents.
- Collect, examine, and organize the evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
- Manage databases, input information, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
- Process correspondence received from USCIS related to the clients we serve.
Eligibility Criteria
- Ideal candidates will be strongly interested in using the law as a vehicle for social change.
- Russian fluency is required.
- Candidates should also possess strong written and oral communications skills, and strong research abilities along with knowledge of Google workstations such as Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drive, etc.
Stipend
This is an unpaid internship position. Students do not receive benefits as part of their internship program.
