About the Opportunity
As a Legal Intern, you will be responsible to perform general tasks associated with the legal department, working at the direction and supervision of the General Counsel. The Legal Intern will be exposed to a variety of areas of law, including corporate governance, contracts, export compliance, employment matters and intellectual property. You will be expected to perform such tasks in a professional, complete and timely manner.
Duration of the Internship
This position is part of the company’s 2023 summer internship program that runs from mid-May through mid-August. The actual start and end dates of the internship will be determined as part of onboarding.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Intern
- Conducting legal research and preparing memorandums or other summaries of findings.
- Reviewing and basic drafting of contracts and other legal documents
- Reviewing, revising and/or developing legal training materials
- Assisting in document management and organization related to corporate governance matters
- Assisting on strategic initiatives of the legal department
- Other duties as assigned
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
- Proficiency with Microsoft Products including Word and Excel required
Preferred Skills
- Interest in corporate law
- Completed relevant legal coursework (e.g., Contracts; Business Organizations)
