About the Internship Opportunity
The AES Corporation in Salt Lake City is inviting applications from eligible candidates who are Currently enrolled in the JD program and have completed at least one year of law school at an accredited institution for a hybrid legal internship opportunity.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team and other employees to help define, create, and edit legal documents and contracts.
- Assist with the review of a variety of construction and procurement contracts and exhibits.
- Assist with legal aspects of renewable energy project construction, including reviewing change orders, drafting responses to force majeure notices, and supporting the permit compliance team and land team.
- Become familiar with corporate entity structure and assist with entity management.
- Support the creation of processes to improve organizational efficiency.
- Assist with legal research as needed.
- Providing daily legal support and direction to project managers, permitting compliance team, construction managers, engineers, and other project staff.
- Develop an understanding of industry knowledge and begin to build project and transactional expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Currently enrolled in the JD program and has completed at least one year of law school at an accredited institution.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of duties and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong desire to learn and willingness to take initiative.
