About the Job
As a Legal Billing Manager, you will oversee our comprehensive legal billing program. You will manage our legal billing support team, invoice review operations, our legal billing system, and other related tools and processes.
You will partner with external vendors and internal teams to address bugs, evaluate feature requests, and ensure our tools, systems, and processes are optimized. You will manage the relationships with our billing system provider and our vendors supporting billing and invoice review.
You will work with our attorneys and other stakeholder teams to understand the business needs of our users and determine how our system and processes can address those needs. You will assess how we can best utilize our billing platform via integration with other systems and tools and continually explore improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead Legal Billing Support team, including oversight and management of vendor teams supporting invoice review and billing.
- Manage the legal billing system and all billing-related processes. Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within legal billing workflows.
- Resolve complex billing issues by partnering with cross-functional teams including Accounts Payable, Finance, Tax, and Engineering.
- Evaluate and support integrations with related tools and technology.
- Work on special projects related to outside counsel management, as needed.
Salary
Base salary – $150,000-$230,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience working in a project/program management function.
- 3 years of experience in people management.
- Experience with TeamConnect or other billing systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in law departments or law firms.
- Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally, to liaise between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
