Symposium Objective
It has been 50 years since the landmark decision in Terry v. Ohio, and since the Kerner Commission Report of the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders.
These events have significance for lawyers today who must grapple with issues of community policing, a diverse society, the application of social science research to criminal law practice, and the ways that these issues affect lawyer wellness.
The University of Illinois College of Law’s Criminal Law Program and the Federal Defenders Office for the Central District of Illinois present a program of speakers at the forefront of the law to address the current context of these issues.
