About Advocacy Internship

Role and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Advocacy Analyst, the Advocacy Intern will support the work of the Unit and will be assigned, but not necessarily limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Attend and draft reports on relevant UN and other meetings of potential interest to IDLO, including as related to the rule of law, people-centered justice, governance, peace building, SDG 16 on peaceful, just, and inclusive societies, and the SDGs more broadly.
- Assist in research and preparation of briefing notes, policy briefings, and talking points on a variety of matters for key internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate and communicate with other teams within IDLO.
- Contribute to event planning and calendar input.
- Provide analytical and specialized administrative support to the Permanent Observer of IDLO and the NYO team.
- Assist in administrative, day-to-day tasks for the office.
Eligibility for Advocacy Internship
- Have completed or been enrolled in a post-graduate (required) course of study at a university or equivalent higher education institution.
- Work experience in international development, including as related to the UN, is desirable.
- Practical experience with clear, concise writing.
- Strong ability to draft and revise documents and handle diplomatic correspondence.
- Solid organizational and analytical skills.
- Advanced computer skills, and in particular excellent ability to use Microsoft Office/Outlook package.
- Excellent level of attention to detail.
- Fluent oral and professional writing skills in English a must.
